Social Studies

The Social Studies department at Battle Mountain High School uses an inclusionary, project approach to its courses. We feel this approach accommodates all learning styles. It allows for student ownership of their learning, and it develops practical life skills. We work with the English department by incorporating the six-trait writing guide to help students become effective writers. The CO State Standards for History are addressed through the curriculum developed at the district level.
