Art

The Art department at Battle Mountain High School teaches students the essential skills that enable them to become creative problem solvers, expressive communicators, discerning consumers and culturally educated individuals. The Art curriculum is aligned with State and District Visual Arts curriculum standards. Students learn to recognize and use the visual arts as a language for communication. This is accomplished through knowing, understanding and applying the basic components that solve visual problems. They learn to understand and apply materials, techniques, technologies and processes. Learning to be more culturally sensitive and personally aware, students can find historical connections in their art and the work of others. They become visually literate through analyzing, interpreting and evaluating the characteristics, merits and meanings of works of art.
